WATER TREATMENT

The advantages of personal water-treating system:
  • self-government, independence of treated water producer-supplier;
  • ability to derive a required volume of clear water of a guaranteed quality;
  • low net cost of treated water.

Distinctive features of different water-treating technologies and their realization.

Preliminary treatment
Preliminary purifying of source water is a necessary step, ensuring a safe and error-free operation of all system’s water-treatment devices. Apart from traditional for Russia preclearing practice (clearing and mechanical filtering), we can offer the following solutions:

  • clearing by means of floatation — it is a foreign cutting-edge technology, enjoying such advantages as compactness, high factory availability of flotation plant, short installation terms;
  • self-scouring mechanical filters — one of the latest world developments, representing an integration of clearing device and mechanical filtering, based on self-repair filter elements. This technology is practiced in cases not requiring a severe clearing of source water. Its advantages are compactness and all-round automation.

Desalting
Desalting — is a deeper stage of water clearing, enabling to receive the desired water quality characteristics. For deriving softened, half or deep desalted water, we can choose the most appropriate existing technical solutions.
  • Uniflow filtering —is a classical technology of chemical water treatment, where filter water feed and filtering agent(reactant) delivery are only one-way directed. Its benefits are – simplicity, efficiency and profitability of the design. The expediency to use for treatment only small water volume (up to 100 ě3 per hour) — is its restriction.
  • Counterflow filtering —today, is the most efficient chemical water treatment technology, in which the direction of water flow motion is opposite to that of the filtering agent motion. The benefits of this very technology are:
    • high efficiency (including one-time filters’ efficiency);
    • compactness;
    • an appreciable saving on reactants and operating costs as opposed to uniflow filtering ( two times at minimum);
    • cutting down on auxiliary water consumption (3-5 times);
    • reduced spending on ion-exchange resins’ feed ( from 15-20% down to 2% per year).
Counterlow filtering technology requires the use of foreign filter medium.
  • Membrane technology is the most leading-edge and advanced one. It has won its reputation due to a total exclusion of reactants (salts and acids). The membrane equipment represents a system, where special membranes, picked according to source water quality and the desired quality of derived water, serve as a filter element:
    • microfiltering one — is about the removal of suspended particles and organic compounds;
    • ultrafiltering one — stands for the removal of colloidal compounds;
    • nanofiltering one — partial desalting;
    • reverse-osmosis one — complete desalting.
    The advantages of membrane filters:
    • upkeep and operational simplicity;
    • compactness;
    • exclusion of reactants;
    • ecological compatibility.
    Drawbacks:
    • high preliminary source water clearing requirements;
    • necessity to replace the membranes every 3 years;
    • great auxiliary water consumption;
    • necessity of a high-skill engineering at the design stage.
Each water-treatment installation is equipped with process control system, whose automation level is determined at a customer’s option.
